<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This year we are on a tight budget, so while I searched the internet and wondered the store with the kids we had a hard time finding something affordable for all of their teachers. Paige is in preschool with a teacher and aid, while Parker is in the dual immersion with an english and chinese teacher. </span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">We saw a bunch of people using Fanta for a fantastic teacher, but I wanted something a little more. It was just a coincidence Parker has been talking about dropping Mentos in soda all week. We snatched up a 6 pack for about $4.00 and the Fanta's a $1.00 each, $1.70 each roughly. We made these fun gift tags that say "You are a FANTA-stic teacher & you MENT-O so much to me." </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Needed some picture cues for a nursery class for when we sing Families Can Be Together Forever so I through together this quick assortment of pictures. Just print them on card-stock laminate, and add a popsicle stick for easy holding plus the kids love to help. You could also enlarge them to use for singing time. </div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">All Things Sweet has this fantastic <a href="http://all-things-sweet.blogspot.com/2008/10/mmmm-cinnabon.html">Cinnabon</a> Knock Off Reciepe</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyVc7WjSh-w1BYx01sJtyTG558fy276KypqEQ9EiPqip5_uYNu0JdPGf0ODUMExgGRz7HvCIU3-qkOSFxlxJ5-QqcRVS8yDaSZniwqYxRysctBYaqljxrOmNID38iKc7b9KvgBA4hzDY9M/s400/bun9.jpg" /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Its so yummy! I have never seen a more beautiful looking dough, I just knew they would be good when started kneading. They raise nicely and they taste divine. I left them plain and had the cream cheese frosting, caramel, and pecans on the side so that everyone could make them the way they wanted and they where a big hit! We enjoyed them the next day reheated for 15 seconds in the microwave. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I really loved the dough and wanted to make an orange version. After scouring the internet I combine <a href="http://all-things-sweet.blogspot.com/2008/10/mmmm-cinnabon.html">All Things Sweets recipe</a> with some others. It worked perfect and very orange. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<h3>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Orange Cinnamon Rolls</span></h3>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><strong>Rolls:</strong>1 package dry yeast (2 1/4tsp)<br />1/2 cup warm milk<br />1/2 cup orange juice<br />2 tb orange peel shredded<br />1 tsp vanilla<br />1/2 cup granulated sugar<br />1/3 cup margarine<br />1 teaspoon salt<br />2 eggs<br />4 cups flour<br /><strong><br /></strong></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><strong>Filling:</strong>1 cup packed brown sugar<br />1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon<br />1tb orange juice<br />1tb orange peel<br />1/3 cup margarine, softened<br /><strong><br /></strong></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><strong>Icing:</strong>6 tablespoons margarine<br />3-4 tb orange juice<br />2 tb orange peel<br />1/2 teaspoon vanilla</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1 1/2 cups powdered sugar sifted</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><strong style="background-color: white; color: #666666; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"></strong></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. Set out eggs and milk to warm to room temp. When milk is warm stir in yeast and let rise for 5 min. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2. Combine all ingredients and mix well. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. Let rise about 1 hour till doubled.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. While dough is rising combine brown sugar, cinnamon, orange juice, and orange peel till crumbly. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Let the paper go up the sides to keep the sauces in the bottom. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6. Kneed dough and roll out to a rectangle around 21"x16" and about a 1/4" thick.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">7. Spead softened margin on rectangle and coat evenly with filling. Roll and cut into 1 3/4" slices and place on prepared dishes. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">8. Raise for 30 minutes and then bake at 350 for about 15 minutes till lightly golden. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">9. Frost and enjoy!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">* I never worry too much if there are lumps in my frosting, when you put it on warm rolls it melts perfect.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Since St. Patrick's is on Sunday this year I thought I would include some all day meals, snacks, drinks, and treats to make. Most of us will be home so why not make it a festive occasion. </div>

I love these <a href="http://www.momto2poshlildivas.com/2012/03/st-patricks-day-themed-rainbow-shamrock.html">Rainbow Pancakes</a> from Mom to 2 posh little divas. What a fun way to start the day! The bananas make great clouds. Serve it with some Shamrock juice from <a href="http://getcreativejuice.blogspot.com/2012/03/recipe-tutorial.html">Creative Juice</a>. </div>

For dinner I think I am in love with a site I just discovered called skinnytaste.com. She has some amazing looking food and the best photographed. Try her easy <a href="http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/03/crock-pot-corned-beef-and-cabbage.html">Crock Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage</a> and pair it with these <a href="http://www.skinnytaste.com/2013/03/guacamole-deviled-eggs.html">Guacamole Deviled Eggs</a>. Plus they are both Gluten free. So I shredded it and froze it in 2 cup bags. We pulled it out to make pumpkin zucchini bread and had some leftovers so I made zucchini waffles. They are yummy, super easy, and adds a little nutrition. I also served them with homemade peach syrup.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
Buttermilk Zucchini Waffles</h3>
<div>
2 Eggs</div>
<div>
1 cup buttermilk</div>
<div>
1/2 cup-1 cup frozen zucchini shred</div>
<div>
6 TB melted butter</div>
<div>
1/2 tsp salt </div>
<div>
1/2 tsp baking soda</div>
<div>
1 1/2 tsp baling powder</div>
<div>
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice</div>
<div>
1/4 tsp cinnamon<br />
1 1/2 cup flour</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Mix it all together and cook in your waffle iron. Be sure not to overfill since they do puff quite a bit while baking. I freeze the leftovers for a quick toaster breakfast. Makes about 12 waffles give or take. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
* Substitution tip: I keep powdered buttermilk in my fridge or if I don't have buttermilk on hand I use a ratio of 1 cup milk to 1 TB vinegar Just mix them together and let them sit for 5 minutes are so it will look weird but its buttermilk. I like to use my apple cider vinegar for the waffles, adds a little more flavor. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
Peach Syrup</h3>
<div>
1 29 oz can peaches with the syrup</div>
<div>
1/2 cup white sugar</div>
<div>
1/2 cup brown sugar</div>
<div>
1 TB corn starch</div>
<div>
1 tsp- 2 tsp vanilla</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. Pureee the peaches in your blender to desired consistency. </div>
<div>
2. Pour in sauce pan with sugars, cornstarch, and vanilla. Mix the cornstarch in well before turning on any heat.</div>
<div>
3. Heat for 5 minutes on med heat until the sugars dissolve and the sauce thickens. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It will store in your fridge for a week or 2. If its too thick add a little water about 1/4 cup max. My mom always made this for us growing up and I love it!</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: small;">A photo from the movie</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><a href="http://www.thefirstgrader-themovie.com/">The First Grader</a>, an inspirational movie which shows that no one is too old to learn and we need to study history. This is based on a true story that took place in 2003 when a radio announcer in Kenya tells that the government is supplying free primary school (grade school) to all. The man is inspired to read a letter sent to him from "The Office of the President". He wants to get the education that was not available when he was growing. He struggles to get the school to allow him to join and is told he must go to adult school. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: small;">Mau Mau Suspects Being Held 1952</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">As the movie goes on you learn more about what he has gone through in life. He was a fighter with the Mau Mau in 1953. I did a little more reading about the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mau_Mau_Uprising">Mau Mau Uprising</a> after the movie and it was so interesting and something I had never learned about in school. what I found most interesting is that the men in these movements where held in camps much like those in prisoner of war camps and Nazi Concentration Camps. It is amazing that we seem to never learn from history and that we fail to see what happens when we forget. </span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">There are some violent aspects in this movie so it is probably not suitable for young children, unless you fast forward through those parts. As Ma<span style="line-height: 19.1875px;">uge continues on through the movie you see the continual struggle of the masses and bullies who very much reminded me of whites in the 1950's when they oppressed blacks. Maruge ent on the do anything things and inspired a whole new generation to get an education. He is to date the Worlds Genuis Book oldest person to go to primary school. I really don't want to give away too much more of the movie, so you must go watch it. </span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"></span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 19.1875px;">It just goes to show that when you do what is right men can move mountains, no matter the age. In thought of learning from our elders here are some more inspirational elders:</span></span></div>

He has no education or trained created a "<a href="http://dropbox-movie.com/trailer.html">Drop Box</a>" where people could leave unwanted babies. Most of the babies have birth defects or disorders. I am sure everyone out there cannot resist the temptation of a fresh baked homemade cookie. I just baked 2 different kids in 18 min. roughly and this is what my mixer looks like and all I have to clean up:</div>

This is why I love freezer cookie dough. I freeze mine in logs that will make roughly 2 dozen each. Although the dough sometimes gets eaten before it can bake. All I do is take it out of the freezer microwave about 45 seconds, slice (they are still frozen, but cut-able), and bake. We didn't get home till late today and we still get yummy cookies to enjoy. I will included some recipes later...<br />

Today we are just making them to eat with a small batch, but I do need to make another batch for the freezer shortly. Use a large skillet to prepare it much easier. I just wish I could figure out homemade tortillas to make them even better.<br />

Use this anniversary to take a romantic "honeymoon" of sorts or the one you never got. </span></span></span></span></div>

They are about 45 minutes away from the Redwoods according to Google They have a ton of different lodging options in classic Victorian homes. They also have packages you can add on like golf, Redwood Canopy Zipline Tour, Cruise, Dinners & Carriages, etc... I want to save up for my 5th anniversary and go here for like a week. It might take the next 3 years to save, but I think it would be worth it. If we had had a honey moon this would have been awesome. </span></div>

The weary wind gave up and spoke,</div>

"How can you still be standing Oak?"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The Oak Tree said, I know that you</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
carry every leaf away,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

You'll never touch them, for you see</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
they are the deepest part of me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Until today, I wasn't sure</div>

But now I've found with thanks to you,</div>

I'm stronger than I ever knew.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
The 4th year anniversary gifts are meant to symbolize the blossoming and the continual fruitfulness of your relationship. That your relationship has reached a comfort level that you can have peace of mind that your relationship will continue to be fruitful and beautiful. </div>
<br />
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.hamiltonbook.com/media/image_240x320/3414590.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://www.hamiltonbook.com/media/image_240x320/3414590.JPG" width="133" /></a>Flowers have been given as the language of love for as long as archaeologists can find from the Chinese, Romans, and Egyptians. The meaning of each flower came from Turkey and was passed down through the French and British till it is incorporated into modern times. Next the Victorians took it to a whole new level; they wrote books about the language of giving flowers, which included the direction in which you give flowers. It would be fun to read about them in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Victorian-Flower-Dictionary-Language-Companion/dp/0345532864/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1361666594&sr=1-2&keywords=the+language+of+flowers">A Victorian Flower Dictionary: The Language of Flowers Companion</a>. If flowers could communicate it back then, it surely can today. If your spouse is knowledgeable of traditions make sure you think about the meaning and color of the flowers you give. </div>
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">
I couldn't really find any history on the gift of giving fruit, but I will guess at what I think it means. Fruit is something that nourishes and refreshes the body, where the old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" means that you want to keep your spouse healthy. It could also mean that just as fruit grows year after year without having to be replanted, your marriage can also be fruitful each year. I think about the peach trees my mom planted from pits; they produced only a handful of peaches last year, but this year it produced baskets. I think with the proper care your marriage should produce baskets of fruit. </div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Romantic Picnic</span> </div>
</h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whats more romantic than a picnic in an orchard or beautiful flower garden? Not much that I can think of. Even in the winter you could go to a beautiful ski resort and enjoy an outdoor picnic. This is a great idea for low and high budgets. Take flowers and a yummy looking <a href="http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/English-Trifle/Detail.aspx">fruit trifle</a> with some delicious custard. </div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Arrangements</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whether its flowers or fruit arrangements are a great traditional idea. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Berry Chocolate Roses® 1 Dozen Mixed Chocolate" src="http://www.ediblearrangements.com/Resources/en-us/i/a/t_December_001_RoseBox_1DozMixed.jpg" /><img alt="Delicious Fruit Design®" src="http://www.ediblearrangements.com/Resources/en-us/i/a/t_l_Aug001_DFD.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Combine the fruit and flowers with a chocolate rose bouquet. These options are from <a href="http://www.ediblearrangements.com/">Edible Arrangements</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="12 Months of Flowers" src="http://a1128.g.akamai.net/7/1128/497/0001/image.proflowers.com/is/image/ProvideCommerce/PF_12_CONT3F_CONT6F_CONT12F_W2_PF?nanos=770&qlt=75,1&resMode=sharp2&op_usm=0.5,1.0,0.0,0&wid=300&hei=350" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Choose a simple arrangement or a year of flowers (a bit pricey, but wow). The flowers listed above are from <a href="http://products.proflowers.com/monthlyflowers/12-Months-of-Flowers-2206?ref=organicgglgeneric_flower+of+the+month+club&prid=pfseogg&viewpos=1&trackingpgroup=fbm">ProFlowers</a>. Build your own arrangement by picking a couple small ones from the grocery store and combining them. This option allows you to pick the colors and flowers, you will know exactly what you are getting.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Lingerie</span></h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Spice up the marriage with some fruity or floral lingerie. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whatever you pick remember to stay within your budget and something you both will enjoy. </div>

The Joy School lessons themselves are okay, but I usually like to use them as a guideline. I do use most the stories however. For those of you who don't know Joy school is like a community Preschool for kids ages 2-5, each parent takes a turn teaching. It has been a lot more costly than I expected and I wish you could just order the books instead of printing them off, but the lessons are good. Since my lesson wants to get the kids curious and interested in science we had a Mad Scientist Day and here are some of the activities we did:<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Elephant Toothpaste</span></h3>
The kids loved this one! Now the original recipe wanted you to get a higher concentrate of hydrogen peroxide, but we didn't and it worked fine so here is what we did:<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsOc_JyET8uvypxhVzoQv8R0lOcCBVFDrKPR3TOBImOXtv_uSh0sqEabnDzPumWBXXVctqzeDDb_BAjWl-MkZiRnYe3SOFbxQt9tZdl4e7Fe1y84TTVUvQeO5saAXQSZ87_2AiPQ-YfX8/s1600/61741_10151261141741956_1019841200_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsOc_JyET8uvypxhVzoQv8R0lOcCBVFDrKPR3TOBImOXtv_uSh0sqEabnDzPumWBXXVctqzeDDb_BAjWl-MkZiRnYe3SOFbxQt9tZdl4e7Fe1y84TTVUvQeO5saAXQSZ87_2AiPQ-YfX8/s320/61741_10151261141741956_1019841200_n.jpg" width="320" /></a><br />
1. Put a small pop bottle in the middle of a casserole dish.<br />
2.In a separate cup put 3 TB warm water and a heavy 1TB of dry active yeast, stir it a little and let it get foamy. If you haven't used yeast before you will kill it if the water is too hot and if its too cold it will not do much.<br />
3. Put 1/2 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide in pop bottle (original recipe 6% from beauty supply stores), add 5-6 drops food coloring, and 1TB of dish soap. Swirl the bottle just a little to mix the coloring in a little. Use a funnel.<br />

Use a funnel and pour in your yeast, quickly and remove the funnel.<br />
<br />
The kids can play in the foam, have them observe that it is warm from the reaction.Make sure they wash good and don't eat any. We talked about that if we didn't follow the recipe and instructions it probably wouldn't turn out right. You can get the exact science from <a href="http://www.sciencebob.com/experiments/toothpaste.php" target="_blank">Science Bob</a> and some changes to make to see what happens, probably best for older kids learning about Exothermic Reactions.<br />

Ivory Soap<br />
Paper Plates<br />
Microwave<br />
* Cut the soap into 4 sections, microwave on a plate anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Most things only say that it will take 90 seconds, our microwave must be hot since it only took a little over 30. It is done when it stops growing.<br />

Basically when it is heated the soap get soft and allows the air and moisture in the air to move throughout, get excited (like kids with lots of sugar). The molecules bounce off each other in different directions. Get the full details from <a href="http://weirdsciencekids.com/ivorysoapmicrowave.html" target="_blank">Weird Science Kids</a>. Ours were bigger than theirs with only the 1/4 soap bar, maybe since it had some shavings from cutting them.<br />
<br />
I had the kids play in it after and tell me how it felt. Here are some of their comments:<br />
"It looks like fluffy paper"<br />
"It feels soft"<br />
"Its like paper"<br />

<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Grow Crystal's</span></h3>
This one took some time, ours have crystals now, but I put them on our heater vents to speed them up. There are lots of different reciepes out there for this one here is what we did:<br />
1. Each child was given their own clear plastic dish and a 1/4 sheet paper towl (I would use bigger containers if you plan to have them keep growing).<br />
2. Pour 1-2 cups salt over the paper towel and decorate the salt with food coloring (optional).<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSuEWsuCuhZQvk1Cv75VklVqMut4ELJlvXoEb0T92RgTYB7cV2frjemAd_TpYY9YyU84dXK7DPUFXuSkIkG-9INaOOnJw0VCPPdsjNtuSuCgiR3UYGu-VSajTrh9JeQzOkthygr-0MYa4/s1600/547856_10151261143296956_1724971311_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSuEWsuCuhZQvk1Cv75VklVqMut4ELJlvXoEb0T92RgTYB7cV2frjemAd_TpYY9YyU84dXK7DPUFXuSkIkG-9INaOOnJw0VCPPdsjNtuSuCgiR3UYGu-VSajTrh9JeQzOkthygr-0MYa4/s320/547856_10151261143296956_1724971311_n.jpg" width="320" /></a>3. In another cup mix 1/4 C salt, 1/4 C water, 2 TB ammonia, and 2TB bluing. Mix till the salt is somewhat dissolved then add the ammonia and bluing. Keep it stirred.<br />
4. Pour into equal amounts into each cup, will do about 4 cups.<br />
5. Let it sit overnight, you can add 2 TB salt to in the next day and then every couple weeks more solution to keep it growing, but don't pour it on the already formed crystals or they will dissolve.<br />
<br />
You can also use charcoal bricketts, sponges cut up and already wet, or clay pot pieces to start your growth. <br />

We joined a food club in our neighborhood, we thought it would be a great opportunity to get to know other adults and find good recipes. We rotate houses and choose a new theme each month. This first months theme is French and Swiss. There was fondue, quiches, desserts, drinks, and wine for those that drink wines. I am going to list the recipes I made...<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I started
with a recipe, but varied because I didn't like the original taste. I also
change the size since I don't have tart pans and made then in cupcake pans, but
I didn't like them as much that way so I bought some mini pie dishes that are 4
in diameter, one batch will make 8-10. We cut it into halves or 4 smaller
pieces to eat. They worked perfect! <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. Sift
dry ingredients, add butter, egg, and then use a pastry cutter to make dough

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. Roll
out crust about the same as a pie crust thickness then cut out circle to fit
pie pans. Do not make an edge like pies just cut it to the pan, any extra
thickness doesn't taste great. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. Cover
the pastry with wax paper and fill with beans to keep crust flat. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5. Bake
at 350 degrees F (175C) until just lightly golden brown 15-20 minutes.
remove wax paper and cook just 2 minutes more so that the bottom is completely
cooked. If you cook it too long the shell get tough. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6. Mix
well and add to cooled shells then top with fresh fruit. Traditionally it’s not
slice, but I like to cut it up and mix it so you get a wide variety in each
bite add a little sugar to make the juices a little thicker. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">7. Cool
at least 15 minutes and dust with powder sugar before serving.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I had never eaten these before or made them so this was a whole new game. I didn't like them that much, but others loved them. A couple things I learned: space them apart since they do raise a bit, use lots of coloring or they are not colored at all, and lastly watch them closely they overbake easily, in fact after I got home from cooking club I realized all mine where overbaked! All in all they were actually pretty simple to make if you follow the instructions from the <a href="http://www.joyofbaking.com/frenchmacarons/MacaronsRecipe.html">Joy of baking</a> (also her recipe). I also watched quite a few videos on Youtube of how to mix it correctly. They are fairly simple to make but it is a process to figure out the right way to make them.</span></div>
<div style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I used a new chocolate ganache recipe and I didn't like it as much so I am going to post one I have used before that is much better and sets up to the right consistency. It will vary with the chocolate you use so always use good quality. For those of you who may not know ganache is the center for truffles, so it will set up once it cools.</span></div>

Traditionally leather shoes would wear out during the 3rd year of marriage, with funds low the traditional gifts where meant to replace items that would wear out. I can't imagine how many women out there would go crazy if they had to wait 3 years of marriage to get new shoes. I had to take a moment and pause on how lucky we are to have so much when I found out that is why it was given in days past.<br />
<br />
Lets talk about the properties in marriage for a second. Leather is strong, durable, warm, and flexible. We all know that leather lasts a long time, at the third year it's the first of many milestones you will reach in your marriage. By this point you should have adjusted to each other and know that your marriage is flexible. You and your spouse have most likely been through hardships and know that your marriage is durable. Most couples have probably learned by now each others "Love Languages and are able to have a warm meaningful relationship in which you both can express and feel love. Leather really embodies what your marriage has become a strong, durable, warm, and flexible relationship.<br />
<br />
Consider an old book, it is covered in leather to protect the delicate paper pages within. Books have lasted hundreds of years because of there protective cover. Its nice to think that by the 3rd year of marriage you have created something that can last your lifetime and beyond. </div>
<br />
<br />
On a little side note this is also considered the anniversary that couples who delayed having children decide to try for children.<br />

Purses and Wallets: Guys, if your wife has been drooling over a designer purse this is a great time to splurge and get her something that you normally can't afford. It would surely be the purse she cherishes and shows off to all her friends. Wallets are always wearing out, I know both me and my husband need new ones. <a href="http://www.dillards.com/shop/Handbags/_/N-lfyu?cm_sp=handbags-_-header-_-nav">Dillards</a> has a huge selection. We bought a LeapPad when they first came out. It was a pain to get since everyone wanted one and it cost a pretty penny, but it is worth every cent maybe more. Even our pediatrician said that it is great for kids to learn abs's, science, math, etc.. If your on the fence I say get it! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="320" src="http://www.mustlovecoupons.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/LeapFrog-LeapPad1-Gel-Skin-Purple-Works-only-with-LeapPad1.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ours is over a year old and works perfect! It has been played with by my 2 yr old and 5 yr old, daycare kids, my nieces/nephews, the kids I nanny, and pretty much every kid that comes to our house. My husband is often found playing it as well. So here is what we have done to keeps ours working great:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
#1: Make sure you get a case</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
#2: Get the gel cover</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
#3: Cover the screen, just like a smart phone.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
#4: Get good rechargeable batteries</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img height="153" src="https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRObamFhB9VZSzUSC-01oOy3ewqsOoHZ139jCqApAlHB7G9jooV0w" width="200" /><img height="144" src="http://s7.leapfrog.com/is/image/LeapFrog/GelSkins?$S1$" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here are some of my pro's: It will save your iPad, smart phones, and computers lots of where and tear. It is great for long drives in the car, I cannot tell you how many hours my kids have been entertained in the vehicle with it. You really don't have to help them at all after a couple times using it, even the 2 yr old finds what she wants. I love that you can watch movies, play games, take pictures, read books, etc... my kids don't get board with just one activity. It is educational unlike a DS, our rule is you cant have a personal game system until your at least 8. Ability to check what you kids are playing, when I plug it into the computer I am able to see what they have completed. You can get games relatively cheap when ToyRus runs their sales, I haven't paid over $14 for a game yet. There are multiple languages, haven't tried them yet but they are on the list. Each LeapPad has 3 players set and one guest option so your kids can easily share, but still have there own personable menu. Its a good toy for a family to share.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Cons: You have to expand some a the games and the system tells your child to have a grownup get the expansion. We haven't expanded any of ours yet, but my son asks every-time he play one of the games. The games play fine without the expansion, but I might buy him one for his coming birthday. There is no battery gauge it would be nice to know how much is left especially before a long drive. The back covers where the batteries go don't stay on, this is not a big deal at all if you have a gel cover. The LeapPad 2's are supposed to be more durable so maybe this is what they fixed, it is the only problem I could think would make it more durable. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Best games we have tried:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://www.toysrus.com/graphics/product_images/pTRU1-13539776reg.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Letter Factory: fantastic game, I wish they would make more like this! My son has had this one since Christmas this year and I have seen a dramatic improvement in his letter recognition, sounding out words when he reads, and writing. I can actually read most his words now. I can't attribute it all to this game, but if you sit and play if for just a couple of minutes you will be in love with its teaching capacity. Get this game for any child under 7.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://www.toysrus.com/graphics/product_images/pTRU1-13524457reg.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Magic School Bus Oceans: another recent purchase that is great! This one is definitely a game for 5 and up. My son has been learning about different sea animals, food chains, and sorting. This game really helps them learn to listen and follow directions. A good game for fun facts!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://s7.leapfrog.com/is/image/LeapFrog/39046_PK01_RF?$S1$" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Mr. Pencil: this is a good game for learning to draw shapes and be creative. It is a little hard since it makes you trace it exact, but a good game. </div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Games that are not so great:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img src="http://www.toysrus.com/graphics/product_images/pTRU1-7304137reg.jpg" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Spongebob: Its just dumb, plain and simple. The game doesn't have that great of graphics and you really don't do much other than karate chop everyone. I guess its a break from educational games, but I wouldn't buy it again. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Apps we like:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Explorer™ Flash Card App: Land Animals" height="144" src="http://s7.leapfrog.com/is/image/LeapFrog/50023_LandANIMAL_Blocks_AC_700?$S1$" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Brain Blocks Flash Cards- Land Animals: this was a surprisingly good app. It has a 2 player game that is mainly what we use, but a good little app about animals. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Explorer™ Video App: Team UmiZoomi Volume 2: Mighty Missions" height="144" src="http://s7.leapfrog.com/is/image/LeapFrog/58056_TUZ_V2_Learning_Path_700x540?$S1$" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Umi Zoomie Video's: we dont have TV and I really like the math skills this show teaches. I love that the kids can watch a short movie with no commercials. 3 episodes per app. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Explorer™ Video App: Bubble Guppies Volume 1: Playtime with Bubble Puppy!" height="144" src="http://s7.leapfrog.com/is/image/LeapFrog/58047_BubbleGuppiesVOL1_Learning_Path_700x540?$S1$" width="200" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Bubble Guppies: this is mainly what my 2 yr old does with the Leappad. They teach colors, shapes, and sing fun songs. 3 episodes per app. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We love the LeapPad and plan to buy one more soon for our 2 yr old, we will be trying out new games (girly ones) and I will update on the ones we like. Share your reviews too, I hate buying something without reading reviews first. </div>

The traditional gift is cotton. Cotton is traditionally given since it symbolizes the need for a marriage to remain strong, versatile, and soft. Ironically cotton symbolizes prosperity.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/100446239/Raw_Cotton_Cotton_Linter_Pulp_And_Cotton_Linter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/100446239/Raw_Cotton_Cotton_Linter_Pulp_And_Cotton_Linter.jpg" width="320" /></a>Cotton has been around since 3000 BC and is the leading cash crop in the US. I highly doubt that without change it will still be the leading crop. In a marriage the first year can either be extremely difficult adjusting to each others qualms or it can be very fun and laid back, but at some point the relationship changes in order for it to survive and remain as strong as the day you where married. <br />
<br />
When I think about this idea I think about the idea that my son is sleeping on cotton sheets that my brothers now in their late 20's slept on. I can't imagine the number of times they have been thrown up on, soiled, washed, but yet they still work great and are soft. On your 2nd anniversary you give cotton to symbolize that no matter how many times you fight, disagree, loose your way; your marriage can be "washed" and last for years to come. <br />
<br />
I think it also reminds us that we need to be soft with our spouses. Change is not always easy over the last two years you have probably learned a whole new way of budgeting, laundry, cooking, cleaning, and communicating. You may have had personal tragedies, job loses, etc. Sometimes we may not always realize how things have affected our spouses.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Bedding: I like the idea of bedding it is something that just the two of you share and that will last for years. It is soft and durable. I think it perfectly symbolizes cotton and all the aspects needed for a strong marriage. If you feeling really ambitious make you master bedroom a second honeymoon that you get to enjoy every night. The ones pictured above are from <a href="http://www.overstock.com/Bedding-Bath/Fashion-Bedding/454/dept.html">Overstock</a>. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Bathrobes: I like the idea of giving bathrobes because you could execute it in so many ways. Make reservations in a local hotel for the honeymoon sweet or a local bed and breakfast. The robes will be a perfect thing to lounge around in and take it home. Or if money is tight make a candlelight dinner and romantic evening at home. The robes will be great and you could enjoy breakfast in bed the next morning. I love all the options on <a href="http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Dapparel&field-keywords=robes&rh=n%3A1036592%2Ck%3Arobes">Amazon</a> and free shipping with prime is great!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Curtains: we know of a house that we have dubbed the "fish bowl," it really is a lovely house, but there are no coverings on the windows. Whenever we drive by it we love to see what they are doing and I am sure they love that everyone driving by can see. They really should have gifted curtains for their 2nd anniversary. Curtains are also a wonderful idea since it really does make anywhere feel like home. I like the curtains we have from <a href="http://www.walmart.com/cp/539105?povid=cat1070145-env172199-moduleA080112-lLinkGNAV_Home_Home_WindowCoverings">Walmart.com</a> and <a href="http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/nodePage.asp?RN=94&">BedBath&Beyond</a>. </div>

So with this new year I want to focus on things I can do to help reduce the clutter, mess, and get prepared. Watch my blog where I will share some of my accomplishments or plans! Here is a small list of some ideas that I will be tackling over the next year and some of the ideas I have to accomplish them:<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If your a teacher print some out for your students make goals. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought since we are making goals I would make a bucket list of things I would like to do this year. I tried to think of things that I think are realistic so that I can do them. </div>

* A little note these lists can change throughout the year, so don't get hung up on not being able to do something, its about having fun and getting things done. No need to stress. </div>

We love to make quesadilla's with the leftovers. You could really use it as a spread on any Mexican dish. <span style="background-color: white;"> </span><span style="background-color: white;">Top with fresh chopped tomatoes, cilantro, and onions mix. </span><br />

I use the whole bag of spinach, but I really like it you can cut down if you like it less. Make sure you put the artichokes in a small food processor it really helped not to have chucks of them and spreads the flavor. I like to bake it till the cheese is crispy on top. We never have enough bread so we eat the left overs with tortilla chips.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Continuing with getting organized for the holidays. Most of us will be in the car for quite some time driving to families and more holiday parties. Our car is a mess all the time lately, I think every pair of shoes my kids have is in there although none of these will solve that issue. Make some for yourself or your friends as gifts to help them organize too. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
We have store bought covers for our seat, but I am contemplating making one or two of these for the younger kids seats. Rasons: #1 the store bought ones only cover the seat part, not the back and the seats dig in pretty hard when correctly attached. #2 these ones would stay on a lot better with all booster seat that are getting moved.
